Booking a photoshoot with us means talking through with what you want, how you feel about how your look, getting pampered and being directed through a fun, confidence inspiring photoshoot. Almost as a bonus you get a beautiful set of images to celebrate yourself right now.

Self-acceptance and confidence in yourself are a stunning combination to wear
A boudoir experience is a way to celebrate yourself as you are right now, and yet connect with yourself in a new and intimate way. There are so many good reasons to experience a boudoir photography shoot but at the core is an opportunity for seeing, feeling and believing yourself as confident, beautiful and amazing.
When you first contact us, we'll have a chat, discuss your interest in boudoir and go through your questions. Then we can book a time for a pre-session consultation planning meeting.
Over a coffee we'll get to know each other better and discuss how you feel about doing the session and your goals for the session in a pre-session consultation. We'll chat about your shoot in more detail and any looks you're thinking about, and check we're on the same page about those things. You can tell us anything we might need to know, e.g. allergies or injuries. We'll go over the agreement and make a tentative session date. After that we'll start planning the shoot and what to do next including ideas on the sorts of outfits you might want to organise.
We'll keep in contact and I'll send you information to prepare for your shoot. We'll create a mood board so that we can collaborate on for your outfits and you can send us images of outfits you're thinking of if you want some guidance.
On the day of the session, when you arrive, we'll go through your awesome outfits together and choose the order for your session. Then you can sit and relax while being pampered by our amazing hair and make artist. Hair and makeup will take about an hour and a half to two hours.
Then we begin photography. The photography lasts between an hour and half to two hours. We'll warm up into the posing. Brett will coach you through movements and poses that will show off your uniqueness and beauty.
Everyone feels anxiety before jumping in front of a camera, but in no time, you will be rocking confidence and fun as you show your best you to the camera. This part is fun and honestly, it's a bit of a workout too. This can also be an extremely valuable transformative time if you allow yourself to enjoy the moment and the freedom to express your vibrant self.
Once you head home, Brett will spend time on your photographs, refining the set and preparing the proofs for your review.
Then we'll have a selection and ordering session together. We'll go through the proofs and you pick the ones you want printed as a folio of prints, an album or wall art. It can be hard to choose between so many lovely images, but Brett will be there to help guide you towards artworks you'll love.
After that Brett will refine the images further and print your artworks. It will take some weeks for wall art and albums to be printed and delivered.
Then we'll meet once again and Brett will present you with your artworks of yourself.
I have never done something like this, can I do it?
Absolutely! You're probably wondering how to pose - most people don't know how. I'll show and tell you what to do to look fantastic in front of the camera. You might even laugh at me demonstrating a pose for you, but when you do it, it will look awesome. It will be fun, transformational, it might feel like a workout at times, but you'll love the results.
how will you know what I want?
I meet every client for a pre-consultation before they commit. We'll meet and get to know each other. We'll talk about the reasons you want a boudoir shoot and use the time to plan the shoot together and what comes next.
can I bring a friend?
Absolutely. If you want to bring a friend, choose someone who's only thought is to be there to hype you when helpful, but otherwise not distract or insert themselves into the session, because the session is only for you.
can I do my own hair and makeup?
The time you spend having your makeup and hair done by us is an important time for you to sit back, chill, get pampered and settle in so that you're present, relaxed and ready for your photography shoot.
For this reason, hair and makeup are always included as part of your session so that you feel amazing and confident in front of the camera. We understand some people prefer to do their own makeup but we require you to come fresh faced without makeup so that our artist can apply particular camera-ready makeup perfect for beautiful photos. If you have allergies to certain products, tell us in the pre-consultation.
do you photoshop?
Yes, retouching is the final polish to make images you'll love. Our priority is that you recognise your beautiful authentic self in the images, so we avoid significant digital manipulation. We'll remove temporary marks such a bruises, pimples, extraneous items on set, etc. We don't remove your permanent features, but we will downplay anything undesirably highlighted by how the camera sees.
will you share my photos?
Only with your consent. Sharing photos shows other women that they can do this too. Some are totally happy for their photos to be shared, others are too if they pick the ones to share. It's totally fine if you would rather us not share your photos. Once you've seen your photos, we'll ask you what photos you're happy to share whether that's all, a selection or none and you'll sign off on those that you consent to being shared.

Yep, I'm a mature male, happily married to my beautiful, wise, kind soul mate. I understand some people might prefer a female photographer while for others it's unimportant - it's the photos that count. Find a photographer you can trust and whose images speak to you - photos reveal what you're feeling. um … what if it's that time of month?
Pads might be noticeable in photos. If you're not going to be able to enjoy your session then let us know and we'll reschedule to another day because we want you to have fun and photos do reveal how you're feeling.
light & mood / cheeky images?
Light & Mood is Brett Handley's brand for general photography services for all ages. Cheeky Images is a specialty offering of intimate portraiture services so it is not on the general light & mood menu - save a link to cheekyimages.au (https://cheekyimages.au) to find it again.
no-charge pre-session consulation
We'll meet over coffee or chat on the phone, get to to know each other, discuss your reasons and expectations for the photoshoot, I'll go through what we offer and answer your questions to ensure you're happy, then we'll take the first steps towards planning and arranging your session.
reservation fee
When we book your session we block out a day from our calendar and book a professional hair and makeup artist. We may also hire equipment or other services. For these reasons, we require a $200 reservation fee to have been paid to hold the session time for you.
The reservation fee you pay will be used towards credit towards the artwork you order from us. If you decide not to purchase anything from your session we'll refund the reservation fee you paid - it's our way to assure you we'll do our best to make images you'll have to have.
If you need to change your booking you must confirm with us that we can change it. We hope you understand, but we cannot refund your reservation fee if you don't give us enough time to change the arrangements we have made for you.
the photography session
The session costs are covered by the reservation fee.
We will pack our gear and travel to where you want to hold your session. This could be your home if you feel more comfortable there. Or you could rent a location such as a boutique hotel room of sufficient size. We can chat over location ideas in the pre-session consultation.

Brett is your photographer. After photographing a woman whose self-perception was transformed by the photos he made for her, the idea of combining intimate portraiture with an outlet for creative expression, making stunning photos for those who value his work and having fun and laughter with people while he does it - was so fabulous he had to start Cheeky Images. Brett holds a Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging and has been creating with expensive cameras since 2004.
your hair and makeup artist
We will book an awesome professional makeup artist for you. That's likely to be Jaii when she is available. Jaii is an awesome, attentive hair and makeup artist. Jaii will wave her magic brushes over you, style your hair, assist you during your session and make you feel on top of the world while she does it. Jaii also runs her own makeup business and sings at weddings so you might have even met Jaii already.
